Empowering Educators to Teach Sustainable STEAM

Child Creativity Lab’s Professional Development workshops give educators the tools, confidence, and hands-on experience to bring creativity, open-ended learning, and sustainability into their classrooms. Designed for teachers, staff, and administrators, these sessions demonstrate how the 4-Step Design Thinking Method (developed at Stanford University) can transform STEAM instruction, curriculum development, and school culture.

Whether your school wants to train a small group of 5 or a district-wide team of 200, our Professional Development sessions are interactive, team-oriented, and customized to meet your community’s needs.

What Is Professional Development with Child Creativity Lab?

Our Professional Development program mirrors the same creativity-boosting experience students enjoy during our workshops. Educators are grouped into teams and guided through a hands-on STEAM challenge, giving them the chance to:

  • Collaborate to solve open-ended problems

  • Negotiate and make group decisions

  • Practice clear communication and shared leadership

  • Experience the same teamwork process their students will use

By the end of each session, teachers walk away with:

  • Confidence in implementing STEAM through sustainable, upcycled methods

  • Practical strategies for embedding open-ended learning into daily curriculum

  • First-hand experience with CCL’s STEAM Challenge Kits and classroom-ready activities

  • Stronger team building and collaboration skills to carry back into their professional practice
