In-School & After-School STEAM Workshops
Bring creativity and innovation directly to your school with Child Creativity Lab’s Makerspace on Wheels (MOW) program. Our hands-on STEAM workshops inspire students to think outside the box, build teamwork skills, and gain confidence through project-based learning. Perfect for classrooms, after-school programs, and district-wide enrichment, Makerspace on Wheels makes STEAM education accessible, engaging, and unforgettable.
What Is Makerspace on Wheels?
Makerspace on Wheels is our signature mobile STEAM program, designed for TK–8th grade (with limited availability for high school). Our trained instructors come to your school or program site with everything needed to facilitate one of our STEAM Challenge Kits.
Each workshop runs 60–75 minutes and is guided by the 4-Step Design Thinking Method (developed at Stanford University). Students collaborate in teams to complete creative engineering and design challenges, learning how to problem-solve, test ideas, and think like real-world innovators.
At the start of each program, only a few students raise their hand when asked, “Who feels creative?” By the end, nearly every hand is raised—proving that every child has creativity waiting to be unlocked.
Why Schools, PTAs, and Districts Choose Makerspace on Wheels
Aligned with NGSS Standards – Every challenge reinforces science, technology, engineering, art, and math concepts taught in the classroom.
Boosts Student Confidence – Kids discover their own creative potential and leave with pride in their work.
Flexible Delivery – Programs are available for schools, after-school programs, Girl Scout troops, libraries, hospitals, summer camps, and more.
Accessible for All Communities – Title I schools and underserved organizations may qualify for grant funding to offset program costs.
Low Lift for Educators & PTAs – CCL instructors handle facilitation and materials; schools just provide space and a few volunteers to assist with hot gluing.
