Kids love to get crafty… and instead of having the glue mess and paint stains on the table… how about dropping in on a crafting workshop or exploring a creative reuse center? Here are 5 places to get crafty and creative!

Child Creativity Lab in Santa Ana

Kids have access to makerspace materials, supplies, and workshop space. Check their websitefor open studio sessions where kids can come in and make whatever their heart desires!

Long Beach Depot for Creative Reuse

If you’re looking for materials for your upcycled craft project… look no further, we found the perfect shop! Right when you walk in, it’s a treasure trove of everything you could possibly need to make a great project. Who knows what you’ll find–paper goods, decorations, school supplies, fabrics, manufacturing scraps and many other items that would otherwise end up in a landfill that can be repurposed for creative projects.

Home Depot

Check your local Home Depot for fun kids (ages 5-12) workshops that features skill-building, creativity, and safety for future DIYers! Workshops are offered every first Saturday of the month, 9 a.m. – noon. And the best part, it’s free! Or is the best part getting a kid-sized Home Depot apron?

Kids’ classes are offered at all locations every Saturday, 10 a.m. – noon. Projects vary by age group. Younger kids (ages 3+) are $2 and older kids (ages 6+) are $5. Find a class and register online here.

Ceramic Studios

Find a ceramic studio next to you using Kidsguide’s directory. Kids will love choosing and painting their own ceramic sculpture!
